THE SYMPOSIUM

We have the pleasure to invite you to join us in the upcoming 5th Latin American Symposium on Coordination and Organometallic Chemistry (5SIMPOSIO LATINOAMERICANO DE QUIMICA DE COORDINACIÓN Y ORGANOMETÁLICA - 5SILQCOM) to be held in Angra dos Reis - Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on October 18-23, 2015.

Since the first edition in Bogota in 2007, this symposium has been held biannually in Latin America and displays an ever-increasing international profile. Delegates from all over the world are attending the meeting and the official language of the SILQCOM-Brazil is English. The relaxed atmosphere and the pleasant venue of the meeting favor the exchange of information and ideas for potential research collaborations in a similar fashion to the Gordon Conferences.

The SCOPE of the symposium includes:

  • Syntheses of coordination complexes & organometallics
  • Catalysis
  • Bioinorganic chemistry
  • Inorganic materials
  • Subjects related to the areas above mentioned

Access below the book of abstracts:

VENUE

The symposium will be held in the Conference Center of Hotel do Bosque in Angra dos Reis-RJ, Brazil. Hotel do Bosque is surrounded by 300.000 m² of native forest and hills, is bathed by a river and is close to a preserved beach, which is reached in five minutes by a boat provided by the hotel (see the photo gallery). Its proximity to Rio de Janeiro, the venue of the 2016 Olympic Games, makes it easy to plan visit to this wonderful city before or after the symposium.

BRAZIL-FRANCE BILATERAL WORKSHOP (joined event)

“Organometallic Catalysis for Green and Sustainable Chemistry”

Every SILQCOM delegate is welcome to attend this workshop.

To facilitate the attendance French scientists in SILQCOM, the organizing committees decided to carry these two events together. The Brazil-France Bilateral Workshop (BFBW) is supported by the French Embassy in Brazil and its primary objective is to bring together chemists from Brazil and France with complementary, strong and diverse expertise in one of the pillars supporting green chemistry: homogeneous catalysis for clean processes leading to complex molecules and materials, biomass transformations into useful industrial intermediates, biodegradable polymers formation, and energy economy or generation.
